Hidden in a quiet Chinatown alley, Yaowarat is a lovely Thai spot with a thoughtfully designed space that feels more refined than most casual Thai restaurants. The menu reminded me of great meals in Bangkok. We ordered several seafood dishes to share, everything was fresh, flavourful and nicely balanced with spice. Well worth a visit, especially if youโ€™re in the CBD late, as theyโ€™re open until midnight.

A true hidden gem with the main entrance covered with plastic sheets and no sign. Had been here twice, and the food we were served were impressive. I really love their olive leaves minced pork, which it is a dish that I never seen in other Thai restaurant. Good alternative to gra pow. The squid curry was also very flavoursome. The pad see ew somehow abit too sweet for my liking. The whole place doesn't have a proper air-conditioning, so could be hot during summer.

I really enjoyed the food here at this rather unassuming restaurant. The crab hoi jor was moist and nicely seasoned. The soft shell crab was nicely cooked. The star of the night was the steamed barramundi and the crab fried rice. The one dish that missed the mark was the deep fried calamari in garlic. The calamari was a little dry and tough.

Yaowarat cravings satisfied Must be one of the best Pad Thais Iโ€™ve had recently, spicy, flavourful, and the thin noodles hit so differently compared to the usual ones. Probably the best. We also tried the stir-fried kangkong, pork belly, and soft-shell crab, and everything was packed with flavour. So tasty. If youโ€™re after solid Thai food, this spot is a must-try.
