Lovely place for a special family dinner event. The food was delicious and highly inventive - this was a real dining experience. The only other places I've enjoyed such intriguing food have had multiple Michelin stars. Sadly for the owners, apart from our group of ten (teens through 80s) it was very quiet, I think only two other couples on a Friday night. The perfect place if you want to enjoy superb food in a quiet environment. Hopefully the numbers pick up - they certainly deserve to - but hopefully without changing the atmosphere too much.
New favourite Canberra restaurant. Has been on our list since we moved last year. They offer an a la carte or a set menu. We picked a la carte and had one of the best beef tartare, followed by a chicken with fries and an amazing salad. Dessert was pretty good too. Great place. Nice wines. Absolute great dinner. Highly recommend.
Came here for dinner to treat a tourist mate to some quintessential Aussie food and this place definitely lived up to my expectations. The flavour combinations were bold and inventive, the techniques showcased were flawless. Overall a very enjoyable experience, would definitely come back here with other mates. The food here is most definitely worthy of a hat, or two.
The set menu was surprisingly affordable, considering the quality, taste, and generous portions! Some unusual but excellent combinations of flavours. Everything was perfect (ok, maybe the cod could've been a bit more tender). Reservations recommended.
We came out to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the restaurant made it special for us. We choose the set menu and were not disappointed. Started with home made sour dough with cultured butter,- they could just sell this it was so nice. 2 entrees a lamb tartre was was so good we scraped the plate clean, and a straccaetella orange and fennel plate that was light and refreshing. Our next dish was blue eyed cod with Jerusalem artichokes- fish was perfectly cooked and the artichokes were divine. Next was a pork coconut cutlet, that was so nice you could cut it with a butter knife, it came with roasted chats which were crispy and delicious Finished with a blood orange sponge with a caramel sauce and homemade icecream to round of a fantastic meal. We left full but enjoyed every mouthful. The pride themselves on serving only Australian wines and spirits, the service was fantastic. Everything was fantastic we are looking forward to visiting again.
