Food wasnโt bad but it is not the same as the Auckland branch despite having the same menu and name. Ordered the chicken pasinday, and it was totally different from that in Auckland. What we got was something similar to any other Indian place in Melbourne. The Auckland branch stood out as unique in their Indian cuisine. Noted I only tried one dish (which was my go to in Auckland). The photo is what it looks like in Auckland. Forgot to take the pic in Melbourne but it was redder and had yoghurt drizzled over, and definitely no egg.
Ordered the mutton biryani for a late night take away meal. Wasn't expected much but what a pleasant suprise. Absolutely flavourful biryani and massive portions can easily serve 2 people. For $17 its a bargain with current cost of living. I would definitely be going back in the near future for a proper meal.
So glad this Auckland classic opened in Melbourne! Had to get to the classic butter chicken and naan, super creamy and flavourful curry, plus perfectly baked naan straight from the tandoori oven, it was just how I remembered it. Also tried the lamb masala, that was super good too, quite tender with a bit of a a kick. Highly rate would come back again!
From the moment we walked in we knew we had come to the perfect Indian restaurant, so clean and were staff so welcoming. The food was to die for, such generous servings and absolute delicious from start to finish. Best Indian food we have ever had. Certainly canโt recommend more highly.
Love that this iconic Auckland classic has now opened a store in Melbourne! True to Paradise form, the portions were big. Manchurian, butter chicken, and saag paneer were all packed with flavour and so rich - we got a couple of meals out of them! The wait time for takeaway was quite long (over 30 minutes) but I understand a new store will go through a teething period so hopefully that improves with time.
