We drove passed this area as we were looking for somewhere to eat for lunch. Because we were not familiar with the area and we just picked whatever was in front of us. And oh boy, I feel like God just directed us to Madam Choiโs. We ordered their lunch special because it was affordable and safe just incase we would not like the food. Let me tell you, customer service was on point, this young teenager boy who was in year 11 (he told us lol) made sure that we had everything we need from table water to sauce on the side if we needed them. We didnโt have to ask he just made sure that we were served like as if we were in a fine dining restaurant lol. And! When the food came out, my son, my partner and I was gasping how amazing the food was. Yummy!!!! The only thing is that the lunch special serving was super small, like as if youโre in Asia lol. But the food was delightful. The next time we come here, we would order from the main menu to get a bigger serving. I wish this was closer to where we live. But I would highly recommend this place. 10/10
Hot and sour soup here is simple the best in NSW. Whenever we have chance to visit Wollongong we always have to pass by this place. Other dishes like Me Goreng, Malaysian butter prawns and squids are so good as well. Staff is friendly and quick service, even the drinks (honey circuit tea) is great too. Highly recommend by all means โค๏ธ
One thing I absolutely hate about restaurants is when a customer has walked in or is standing at the door, and the waiter or worker sees but continues doing what they're doing and ignores the customer til they are finished. I understand they have work to do, but a simple "I'll be with you in a moment" will suffice. It is completely rude to just ignore a customer, like I experienced here, and I had to flag him down to get his attention and ask to be seated. Mind you there was maybe 2 other tables occupied at the time, so no they were not crowded. Next is the menu selection wasnt very appealing- nevertheless we ordered a fried kuay teow, which being a native Malaysian, I have eaten on many occasions both in Malaysia and Australia, and what we received was terrible. There was barely any soy sauce or seasoning on it- most of our noodles were still fully white. Usually a kuay teow is brown cause its been fried, in with its sauces and seasonings and no longer the white colour it originally was, and this is what gives it its flavour. Well picture attached is proof it was so white and tasteless. I would not recommend wasting ones hard earned money at this restaurant as the quality of food is not on par.
One of the best Asian restaurants in the Wollongong area. We had salt and pepper tofu, Malaysian chicken with eggplant, and vegetables โ all were very satisfying.
Visiting Thirroul on way to Wollongong and came in this restaurant. It was quite packed and we were kindly seated straight away. All the food was served with full flavour and beautiful presentation. We really enjoyed our food and their kind service. The Malaysian butter prawn was absolutely sensational and i strongly recommend it!
