Everything overall was really delicious, and the noodles were amazing. If you prefer a firmer, more chewy texture, definitely try ordering the cold noodles!! But when I got home later and checked the receipt, I think one of the udon items was charged incorrectly. The Cold Plain Noodle is $18.90, but I was charged $20.90 instead. It would be perfect if we could double-check the prices together before payment next time~ Beyond expectations! Best Japanese hand made noodles I've had outside Japan (a

Beyond expectations! Best Japanese hand made noodles I've had outside Japan (and I've tried lots in Sydney) We had the cold noodles that were similar to Korean cold noodles but sour, but omg it was so refreshing! The wakame noodles so fresh in texture. After we finished the noodles, we couldn't stop staring at other table that ordered tempura and tempted to get some - and they were great! The owner lady and staff are exceptionally friendly. Shame I didnt get to try their popular dan dan noodles, I'll be back when I'm here in Cairns!
We arrived at this restaurant shortly after opening at 11:15am and were surprised to find a fairly long line already forming outside. We waited about 45 minutes before being seated. What struck us as unusual was that we could clearly see into the restaurant, and several seats at the large shared table in the middle remained empty for quite some time. Others in line noticed and commented on this as well. Even when some diners left, the empty tables inside werenโt filled immediately, so it seems the restaurant follows a particular seating system, though it wasnโt obvious to us what it was. That said, once we were finally seated, everything ran smoothly. The service was excellent - polite, attentive, and very much in line with Japanese hospitality. The food itself was outstanding, especially the tempura, which was perfectly executed and among the best weโve had. Be prepared for a wait even if the restaurant looks half empty, but once inside, both the service and food are absolutely worth it.
Canโt quite call this a hidden gem as it is rated 4.9 with 500+ reviews but that is for very good reason! The staff here are some of the most hospitable that you will ever come across. All of their dishes are very good. Pro tip: if you arrive after 6pm, there is a good chance they will be completely sold out.
Absolutely obsessed with this place โ my new favourite Japanese restaurant in Cairns! The noodles are made fresh on site and taste amazing. The menu is extensive, everything is well priced, and the service is always friendly and efficient. Itโs the perfect lunch spot โ just make sure you get in early because they sell out fast (for good reason!). Highly recommend!
