We have been going to Dimitrios Specialty Cakes for years. They are a small family owned and operated company which is my complaint- they’re closed too often and they’re so popular you need to order weeks in advance! Although they do have smaller cakes in the window, ready to go. We have been going there for 15 or so years and they are the main selection (if we can afford it, the prices have gone up significantly) By far the best cakes in Darwin. Always perfectly made and look almost exactly like the pictures. Even the small cakes and snacks in the shop window are amazing, depending on your tastes. The Vanilla slice (galaktoboureko), Baklava bites and occasionally they have biscuits are all great. Other cake shops and bakeries may have more variety in the window but no cakes compare.

Dimitrio's is a staple of Alawa and has been providing delicious and well-priced baked goods for years. I urge anyone interested to definitely check it out. Their tiramisu and caramel slice are to die for.

I am really disappointed with the service. You might be making good cakes but I feel service is important. Would never recommend to anyone because I don't want my friends to go through what I have experienced. You just spoiled my day...The only suggestion please be kind to all your customers.

I don't remember too well as this was 9 years ago but this looks just like the little family bakery my dad and I walked into to get my 10th birthday cake. It was a stunningly decorated white (vanilla?) custard cake. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was in April 2015. I had previously enjoyed a flan and wanted a similar flavour and cake for my 10th birthday and they delivered very well.

I have always heard this place does great cakes. I have always been meaning to try them and I just did and I am glad I did. Worth every cent. The cake was so yummy. Nice and moist and light and not too sweet. I have ordered a cake for my sons baptism too so we will look forward to that. If you haven't tried them yet do not leave it because it might be out of your way. They are worth the journey. Plus great customer service. Asked many questions and wrote plenty details down.
