Amazing atmosphere, engaging team and endless flavor creations that never seem to stop coming! Highly recommend you try this, they were very accommodating to come up with vegetarian options (ensure you request in advanceโฆor else). Some options felt a little lacking compared to the non-veg alternative however one dish created from scratch was the highlight of the trip and lifted the entire experience.
Our favourite dining experience in Hobart. All team members were friendly and made it fun. Food was divine, showcasing local Tassie produce in a very modern and restrained way. (If youโre from Sydney and are into cosy wine bars like Bar Copains, Jane and Ante, this is the one for you!)
10/10 on all fronts. We like to treat ourselves to a nice dinner when we travel and Dier Makr fit the bill for this quick getaway. We opted for the additional wine pairing and it did NOT disappoint. Excellent service from both Dier Makr and next doorโs Lucinda from the moment we arrived (too early); beautiful decor and the food. My goodness, the food!!! Starting with a series of โsnacksโ, our degustational journey took us on a trip through Tasmania and every course exceeded the one prior. We booked seats at the kitchen bench and were able to watch the chefs prepare everything in front of us, which was immensely satisfying and interesting to watch. The staff were knowledgeable and engaging, and the kitchen space was so clean, tidy and organised, my type A brain enjoyed every second of the experience. Highly recommend a visit if youโre in town, such a special place and one we will be returning to on our next visit. Thank you!!!
Bookmarked this place and had very high expectations due to the excellent reviews. However, the food was overrated and not worth the price. Some of the dishes were plain weird, like the mussels with baby corn. It did not match at all. Alot of the dishes were also very salty. Portions are small as well. This was also the only restaurant during our whole trip to show us the tipping screen (on the credit card machine), making me feel obliged to tip them on top of the already expensive (for the food quality and amount) meal. Just to be clear, this is not our first fine dining meal. But it certainly is one of the rare few times we walk away feeling scammed by the good reviews.
Second time I have had the pleasure of eating here. The service and food was impeccable. The wine pairing was spot on and we couldnโt have been happier. A night with great food, awesome service, fantastic organic wine and the best music on vinyl. We will be back.
